The Full Contact Project Management Guide…
Using Videos to Protect Your Profits
A Checklist for what You Should Do, and what You Must Do
- Video the site perimeter, access to your work area, and your contracted area. Show how it looks—right now—before any damage is claimed
- Use a decent quality camcorder that is easy to download to your computer
- don’t buy or use tape camcorders
- don’t buy or use cameras that record to mini DVDs
- don’t just use the video function of your still camera—get a camcorder
- Carefully walk the entire perimeter, access and project areas where you will be working, capturing your comments on the video.
- If there is a reason to be critical of the quality or appearance of the existing site, don’t be bashful or hesitant about mentioning any of these shortcomings on the video
- Save the new video file to your computer’s hard drive
- Copy the new video file to a DVD
- Make several copies of the DVD
- Label the DVD: “Pre-construction Video for XYZ Project”, along with the date; place in a paper sleeve or a plastic case
- Prepare a “transmittal” or a “submittal” form, and send at least two copies to your client for his review and comments
- Keep at least one copy of the DVD in your own project file (often, your client will either lose his DVDs, or not be aware that he had received them, and will request another copy from you. This makes it easy for you)
Note from Coach:
This checklist is simple, but don’t let that fool you! It will get you going in the right direction. Put these steps to work for you—beginning today. If you’re pretty savvy with technology, or have someone who can help you, it should be no sweat.
However, a lot of you might like the “full story”: you want to see this completely spelled out. You realize that there are some insider tips and tricks that make this tool even better: For you, go ahead and order my “No B.S.” DVD: “How to Do a Winning Pre-Construction Video” Take a quick look at what’s included on it:
Included on the DVD:
- What to look for
- What to talk about and…
- …How to say it!
- How to shoot it
- Which camera you should consider, and which you should not
- Why you absolutely should NOT use your still camera for videos
- How to get the video clips onto your computer and the DVD
Special Bonus:
- How to provide your client with a quick and effective video and not get all hung up on DVD production. This could be just what you need!
As you can see, there is a lot to consider and to know, yet none of it is really hard to do, isn’t overwhelming, and it isn’t expensive. I’ll even show you how to get the first video done for less than $200.00 total, including the cost of this DVD course and your camera! Can it get any easier than that? Your next pre-construction video will cost you almost nothing. How’s that for inexpensive?
So…how do you get this? It’s as easy as learning the material by watching my DVD! Go to my website, www.FullContactTeam.com and look for the order link. If you have any kind of a problem, drop me an email at gary.micheloni@usa.net.
The cost of the course? Way less than you probably figured—just $47. And if you go there now, you might even find the bonus I’m giving away that is valued at more than the cost of the DVD. Trust me—you want this!
Let’s take command of our projects this year. The pre-construction video is a great way for you to start.
